PROGRAM

Day 1. Meeting of the group in Kolomyia. Town tour. Visiting of museum of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttia and private museum of antiquities. Passing through Carpathians (through Kosiv and Bukovetsky pass) and first acquaintance with unique architecture and way of life of hutsuls. Excursion to museum of I. Franko in Kryvorivni. Transfer through Verkhovyna – Vorokhta. Accommodation in tourist centre*. Dinner.

Day 2. Breakfast. Driving on rope and seat way. Narration about the highest mountainous ranges  of Ukrainian Carpathians and their sightseeing. Transfer to Yaremche. Visiting of the waterfall “Probiy” and hutsulian market. Visiting of the restaurant „Hutsulshchyna” (independently). Transfer to  Ivano-Frankivsk. Excursion along the town.  End of the program.

Organizer provides:

-food (1 breakfast, 1 dinner);

-guide accompaniment;

-insurance.

* It is possible  to change places of accommodation into places in private farms for green tourism.

·         By preliminary order performance of hutsulian band “troyisty musicians” is possible.

Information about objects of excursion program: 

Kolomyia. One of the oldest locations of Ukraine and at the same time the biggest hutsulian town. By celebration of 10th anniversary of World festival of hutsulian culture an architectural complex of old town was renewed. It is pleasant to walk along the streets of this ancient centre of halytian and hutsulian culture. Here several interesting museums function: old museum of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttia with unique collections of hutsulian antiquity; museum-pysanka – the most original museum construction of Ukraine with exhibition of pysanky; private museum of antiquity.

Kosiv. Center of folk trades is a set of villages of the location which realize their original hutsulian goods and souvenirs in the famous Kosiv market. Rayon center is also popular for the recreational possibilities.

Kryvorivnya. Mountainous village on the banks of Chorny Cheremosh river. Is situated on Verkhovyna which is typical for  picturesque mountains with slight slopes, lot of valleys and „scattered” on them hutsulian settlements. Here worked, rested and met with each other famous workers of culture, science and policy. Recollections about their staying here  still lives in the memory of local old inhabitants and is fixes in museum expositions. The museum of I. Franko  works Yet from the 50s, a museum was made from the house-hradzha (hutsulian type of defense housing constructions), and in 2004 a museum of M. Grushevsky was opened.

Verkhovyna. Centre of rayon with the same name, old hutsulian village with historical name Zhabye, on the river Chorny Cheremosh. Is typical for a great amount of  settlements which are situated in the valleys of mountainous streams which flow in the rayon of Verkhovyna into Cheremosh river. In the settlement hutsulian musical traditions are vivid, you can see private collections of antiquities.

Vorokhta. Small village with center of sport and  healthy tourism known as  resort since the end of Õ²Õ century. Nowadays rest is diversified with using rope-seat way from which terminal majestic views on landscape and scenery on the highest mountain ranges of Ukraine – Chornohora, Svydovets, Gorgany- open. Here you can become a witness of coaching of sportsmen – ski-jumpers.

Yaremche. One of the most popular rest centers known since the beginning of the XX century. Situated at the bottom of the range of Gorgany on the banks of Prut. Objects which attract tourists here: waterfall „Probiy” and architectural monument next to it – restaurant „Hutsulshchyna”, markets with hutsulian souvenirs and goods, Rocks of Dovbush. 

Ivano-Frankivsk. Old Stanislav situated in foothills of Carpathians between the rivers Bysrtytsa Solotvynska and Nadvirnyanska – is a modern administrative and cultural center of the region. Tourists’ attention attract architectural monuments in central parts of town, especially religious constructions of different confession, old residential buildings, building of railway station, rests of fortress and others. The atmosphere of this town is very pleasant.

Ukrainian Carpathians. Mountain range which consists of separate ranges. The highest of them are Chornohora, Svydovets, Gorgany, situated on the border of Ivano-Frankivsk oblast and Transcarpathians, on ethnographic territories of Hutsulshchyna. The highest peaks – over 2000 m – Goverla, Pip Ivan, Petros and others. The location attracts tourists and  gladdens in any season of the year.
